AutomaCon is a single-track event designed to cross promote ideas from the various disparate communities that we as devops practictioners are a members of. Some of our presenters were invited to speak, though the majority were selected via a public CFP. Ample morning, lunch, and afternoon breaks are scheduled to allow for "hallway track" discussions, while keeping everyone in the same room for the actual presentations.
AutomaCon is a three-day event. The first day is dedicated to lightning talks and workshops, giving attendees an opportunity to get some hands-on experience with some of the tools and ideas that will be discussed throughout the course of the event. Day 2-3 is the main event — a single track of presentations that will delight everyone in attendance. Click the links below to view the complete schedule:
AutomaCon 2.0 (2016) will feature a full day of lightning talks and workshops, on Tuesday September 27, 2016. All attendees are invited to attend any or all of the two or three workshops, at no additional cost (i.e. workshops are included with your registration fee). As conference workshops are confirmed, details will be published here, and attendees will be able to RSVP in order to receive additional information from the workshop host(s). We are planning on organizing a variety of meetups around AutomaCon, which information will be published here as it becomes available. Please subscribe to the newsletter for updates as more information becomes available.
Family Fun Night was a big hit at last year's event, so we're very excited to be able to invite all AutomaCon attendees back for an exclusive, after-hours opening of the Portland Art Museum! The museum will reopen after normal business hours on Wednesday, September 28th from 5:15 PM to 7:00 PM. Light refreshments will be served to help everyone wind down after the first day of the main event. You're welcome to bring your friends and family too — admission is FREE for groups entering with badge-carrying attendees!
No tech industry event would be complete without a proper after party and AutomaCon is no exception. The official AutomaCon after-party is scheduled for the final evening of the event, on Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 5:30 to 8:30 PM at Jackknife Bar, located at 614 SW 11th Ave, Portland, OR 97205. Mark your calendar and coordinate your travel arrangements accordingly — you won't want to miss out!
